can i make a fish pond in my garden without using pumps,filters etc?

ok lets forget the fish bit, how about a wildlife pond for insects, frogs, plants etc if so anybody got details, thanks
you can but you will end up with a stagnate algae pit

Pumping out my pond so I can dig it deeper and bigger.When it is full it’s only 4 feet deep. I put goldfish (baitshop) in there to eat the bugs when they get in the water. I needed dirt to make my barn level when I built it and dug a hole.This is where I get all my fill dirt for the yard. The fish didn’t die over the winter. And it was only 2 feet deep.
